![]() ![]() Stewart Stage 2 Aluminum Water Pump - Chevrolet BB SKU: STE21204 Pretty much set on a high volume pump, just don't know which one.Ĭlick to expand.Sorry Stage 2 not stage 3 This is my understanding of trying to study what's available to study on it. And the say its best to use a Tstat in the 200 range. The boiling point is well above 300 without any pressure at all. So the heat induced expansion isn't as great as with water. Now this will be using the waterless coolant. The pressure in the radiator and hoses is from heat induced expansion of the coolant. I'm trying to see if I can increase the volume of flow thru the heads without increasing the speed. The bypass circuit thru the heads might flow quickly but it will also be restricted by the small head gasket holes. If the Tstat flow exceeds the pumps output then things go too fast, pressure drops and heating issues develop. If the pump flow exceeds the Tstat flow the pressure will be increased behind the tstat. Īs far as moving too fast thru the engine, the Tstat provides a restriction that will limit the amount of coolant flow thru the block. The pressure increase should stay between the block and the thermostat. This is going on a Chrysler hemi, 345 out to 421 cubic inches with a 671Ī very expensive radiator and waterless coolant. Why only a 1 year warranty on a 300.00 water pump ? Then there's hotheads ( im sure its repackaged )Īnd then the top of price range, and if you truly get what you pay for this should be the best. What's the big difference in weiand's "action plus" or their "team G" pump ?Īnyone ever deal with KMJ performance ? they have a 70.00 pump. ![]() I'm not afraid to spend some dough on this thing, but no sense in overpaying either. 70.00 to close to 350.00 for a Stewart stage 4. Looks can be deceiving, but if it’s not a FlowKooler, it’s not high volume. There's a bunch out there that claim to be High Volume and a huge range in price. The factory and high quality replacement pumps push nearly that much more at idle than the cheap junk replacement pumps. The FlowKooler pump features a trick billet brass impeller that pushes roughly 30% more coolant at idle than the factory and high quality replacement pumps. There are 3 pumps available new: Cheap junk (notably substandard compared to the OE pumps, sold by many as ‘OE replacement’), high quality stock replacement (sold by us and some others as ‘stock replacement’, but sold incorrectly as ‘high volume’ by the unscrupulous, simply because they are better than the cheap not-so-great replacement pumps), and true high volume pumps, which are only made by FlowKooler.
